34 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. – 1 Chronicles 16:34
I was not an English major and I really don’t like to write, so it is hard for me to find the right words and truly express how I feel through words.
Tonight at the Troy vs Academy Football game, Melinda and I had the pleasure of receiving a check from many caring individuals that gave to help cover our bills from the cancer treatments.
I was able to hold in my tears until we got home. I lost it when I realized that between the GoFundMe page and that check the total was just a few dollars over the exact amount we needed to pay off last year’s insurance deductibles. I need to tell you why it hit me so hard.
As I left Lakeview Baptist Church Wednesday night, the thoughts of what we had just discussed, what I thought of as worries about how to pay our bills and what our lives would look like over the next weeks, months, and years overwhelmed me and I started to cry. That is when a song I had never heard before came on K-LOVE Radio; Stand in Your Love by Josh Baldwin. As I listened it was as if Jesus was talking to me and telling me you are not worrying about these things instead you are being fearful of the unknown. If you will just stand in my love you will be okay. I have a plan and you fear not being in control. I have listened to that song many times since Wednesday night. For me, a bit of a control freak, the fear of the unknown can be overwhelming, but with Christ’s love, fear does not stand a chance.
I am in awe each day as to how much God’s grace continues to bless us and the selfless giving of others in our time of need. Melinda and I can not say THANK YOU enough to all those that are helping us during this time of need.
May God Bless each and every one of you and if you have not heard Stand in Your Love here is a link to one version of it on Youtube.
