“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
Overall, the last two weeks have been pretty good for Melinda. She seems to be getting more energy back. She had a wonderful Mother’s day; both children came home, spent some time with her, and went to church before heading back to work. Pastor Crowder delivered one of the best sermons I have heard. You can listen to here https://www.lbcbelton.org/sermons/the-importance-of-one/.
Melinda had her MRI this week after a lot of back and forth with the insurance. We are making payments on her MRI from November because the facility was under FirstCare but apparently the radiologist that read the MRI was not, so FirstCare has refused to pay. How were we supposed to know that the radiologist was not under her insurance plan? Anyway, we learned from this experience and asked questions before this MRI. It was supposed to be done at Providence which is covered by her new insurance plan, but after several phone calls, we learned the three radiologists Providence uses are not in-network. We had to cancel the appointment and find an MRI in-network. She ended up going to IdealMRI. They were very friendly, but they did not have any butterfly needles which Melinda does much better with. We plan to ask for them to have some if we return. Melinda also said the machine was much louder than the one at Providence; she could not even hear the music. I can say I had my first MRI last summer for my knee. I don’t know how she does. They will have to knock me out to get me in that tube again. I am really struggling to be Christ-like in dealing with medical insurance. I have to remind myself it is not the person I am talking too.
Melinda has a follow-up appointment in a few weeks. We are praying that nothing has changed and she is continuing to heal. Regardless of what happens in the future, we know that Jesus our Savior is in control.
