This weekend Left Behind: Rise Of The Antichrist will premier at select theaters across the country. I plan to go watch it and hope you will too. I believe we need to support Christian-based movies to give families something to watch instead of the crap coming out of Hollywood.
“Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.”
1 Thessalonians 4:17
The idea of the Rapture is rooted in the belief that Jesus will return to earth a second time, and that before His return, He will gather His followers to be with Him forever. According to the Bible, those who are alive at the time of the Rapture will be caught up with those who have already died in Christ, to meet with Jesus in the air.
Not all denominations believe in the Rapture. Some interpret it as a symbolic rather than a literal event. I personally think they are wrong and pray it does not keep Jesus from calling them home before the great tribulation.
When the Rapture occurs, all believers will be instantly transformed and given new, glorified bodies. We will be taken up to meet Jesus in the air and will be with Him forever in heaven. This is our “Blessed Hope” as it signifies our ultimate salvation and the end of our struggle on earth. Unfortunately, it is the beginning of the worst struggles for those left behind.
Non-believers will be left behind on Earth and face the tribulation period, a time of great suffering, before the second coming of Jesus. Non-believers will be confronted with the reality that they have rejected Jesus and will be in a state of shock and confusion. Luckily, many will turn to Jesus before it is too late. Those that do not will have to face the reality that they will be eternally separated from God and sent to Hell.
The Rapture is the beginning of the end of the world as we know it. The Rapture will be preceded by a period of great turmoil and tribulation on earth, as outlined in the book of Revelation.
It is impossible to know exactly what will happen when the Rapture occurs, but the book of Revelation gives us a glimpse. Those that know Christ, will not be here to experience the judgments of God. For the Non-believers, it will be a moment of realization and regret, as they will be left behind to face the consequences of their rejection of Jesus Christ. It will be their last chance to welcome Jesus into their heart.
The GOOD NEWS
The rapture is getting closer and closer, but that does not mean there is no good news. Did you know that God sent his son Jesus to die for our sins? It is because of that sacrifice that you and I have the opportunity to live forever with him. If you do not know Jesus it is not too late, but the day is coming when it will be; Don’t be LEFT BEHIND!!! You will want Jesus on your side and your name in the Lamb’s book of life when you see God face to face.
